Beth Bauer: The Mindfulness Happiness Connection
Beth traveled to over 30 countries in the past few years in search of happiness. What she realized is that happiness is a journey, and not a destination and she’s eager to share her insights with others to help them live a happier life. You’ve probably heard it said many times, “Happiness is a choice.” But is it really that simple? If it were, everyone would be happy. So what does mindfulness have to do with happiness? What’s the connection? In this workshop, you will learn how to be more mindful (aware) of the things that interfere with your happiness and how to prevent them. Beth has an acronym for it – FEEDBACK. Learn how FEEDBACK can help you be happier in any circumstance.
Beth Bauer has taught workshops and classes at Clark College in Vancouver, Washington, and at Grays Community College in Ilwaco, Washington. She has also been a trainer for many corporate clients and nonprofit organizations, both in the U.S and overseas.

Dawn Sorenson: Virtues of the Heart: A Practical Guide to Unconditional Love
A great teacher of mine once said “the seven-inch journey from the head to the heart is the longest we take. Some will never choose it.”
This workshop is a heavy weight lifting course for the heart. We live in a heady/intellectual society that doesn’t often teach us how to be heart-centered. We may often go to a gym, eat well, groom ourselves, yet how do we expand our abilities and capacity to love in every moment? To love our neighbors and enemies? To love someone else or ourselves in a moment of strife?
This is a practical, applicable toolbox to do just that- taking the idealism out of unconditional love, especially when it’s challenging. Using yogic breath practices to center and ground, then adding a simple (yet profound) set of ways to access love when the habit may be to flight/fly/freeze. All that is needed is the willingness and a heart- the rest is provided!
It’s easy to love when it’s reciprocated, yet that doesn’t give us the opportunity to know our ability to go way above and beyond that, showing others how they can, too. This workshop will let our practices send a ripple out to the world that desperately needs more love, sweet love.
The Power of Pranayama
Pranayama is the practice of breath control in Yoga. Learn to breathe fully and live life without trying to control, grasp, or push. The flow of breathing is a metaphor we have for the way we live our lives and how we react to changes that life brings us. Students will learn different breathing techniques and how to cultivate mindfulness through the practice of asana, pranayama, and meditation.
Cora ‘River’ Huot has spent their lifetime living all over the United States exploring the nooks and crannies of whatever natural landscape they found themselves traversing. Their spirit of adventure and exploration rightly began their journey into awareness. At the age of fifteen, they began reading books about spiritual fulfillment, cultivating compassion in the heart, and articles about the many benefits of meditation toward emotional well-being and sleep. They maintained interests in meditation, Shinto Buddhism, and psychology throughout their years, even in their time of military service. By 2018, however, their life became a series of tight spirals, often looping through drug and alcohol abuse, chronic depression, a rocky marriage, and therapeutic treatment. It wasn’t until early 2019, soon after completing DBT, and CBT courses that they began to put passion back into spiritual fulfillment.
River fell in love with the practices of eastern teachings such as Bhakti Yoga and Zen Buddhism, soon thereafter, often reciting and memorizing Tibetan mantras for six hours a day and three days a week. It was on Annual Bodhi Day of 2019, during a guided meditation honoring the passing of Ram Dass where River awoke from themselves and began anew. They pursued further knowledge in every facet, reading books authored by Ram Dass, Adyashanti, Thích Nhất Hạnh, Pema Chödrön, and Radhanath Swami, (as well as various Vedic literature).
Their background in traditional Yoga (Raja, Hatha, Bhakti, Vinyasa), Mantra Meditation, and poetry (yes poetry is mindfulness practice!) is personified in how they carry themselves with patience, understanding, and attentiveness in every interaction. Whether they are volunteering in a kitchen, preparing food for devotees, managing California’s canyons, or meditating in nature, their present-minded spirit brings out the best in others. River’s passion for the natural world and its diversified inhabitants is what drives them to teach others the simplicity of Yoga and pranayama. It is their belief that “Yoga is the vital tool for transforming the heart of all; it is the spear with which we could puncture through the walls of ignorance and corruption in the world. With mindful breath and awareness of our body, we return to being.”
Apart from their spiritual practice, they have an exceptionally keen eye for photography, a practiced ear in music, a knack for lucid dreaming, and some skill with metaphors. Between work, play, and practice, River is a warm-hearted individual who’s always ready to lend their energy by helping others and will be leading festival guests in a Kirtan and guided meditation.

Qigong Shibashi Tai Chi: Peaceful Motion for Health
This class leads you through a peaceful, beautiful, and gentle flowing Qigong exercise that creates euphoric relaxed feelings, and at the same time is physically stimulating.
The rocking motions and stretching movements gently massage the internal organs, stimulate the energy meridians, move the major joints, and improve circulation and digestion. The chest exercises and controlled breathing are good for the heart, lung conditions, and asthma-related problems. The overall effect of the routine is to reduce mental stress and physical tension carried in the muscles of the body.
Six steps of Qigong
1. Calm mind-empty the mind of all thoughts focusing on the breath
2. Relax body- by deeper fuller and slower breathing
3. Qi flows freely through the body to open meridians (energy pathways)
4. Mind directs the Qi
5. Can absorb the Qi where needed as meridians are clear and open
6. Can release the Qi…letting go or direct it.
These movements are suitable for anyone regardless of age and can be done seated or standing.
Charlie Nagy of Healthy Tonics
Charlie Nagy is a master alchemist and no stranger to health challenges. Whether it was her work as a caregiver in Alaska where she formed a friendship with an older woman that had dementia, curing her own crippling back pain caused by a work-related injury, caring for her father as he died from cancer, or finding a cure for her daughter’s Fatty Liver disease, it’s evident that being a healer is Charlie’s calling.
For over 20 years, she has dedicated her life to helping others through the pain and suffering of both acute and chronic illnesses. In 2008, while her father was fighting cancer, a doctor pulled Charlie aside and secretly suggested she look into cannabis. She tried to help by giving her dad capsules, but he passed away a short time later. That was the start of her intensive self-studies into the medicinal use of Hemp and CBD products.
She began by making resin (RSO) to lessen her chronic back pain. She had spent years barely able to sleep, waking about every 20 minutes with the most intense nerve pain imaginable. One day, she mixed the resin with coconut oil, and her pain instantly vanished! She then started making cannabis oil and other products to share with her friends and family. People couldn’t get enough and kept begging for more, so she opened a thrift store so that she would have enough money to buy needed ingredients. Word spread, and soon she was delivering products to Astoria and surrounding areas. In 2012 she officially opened her business, Healthy Tonics. All of her products are handmade with love from the finest natural ingredients.
